No, I'm Not A Human is an indie first-person horror visual novel video game set in a dystopian world populated by alien impostors disguised as humans. The game follows the player as they try to distinguish between real humans who need shelter and the aliens out to harm them. The game was created by Russian indie studio Trioskaz and published by Critical Reflex. It was initially released as a demo on June 9th, 2025, before its full launch for Windows on Steam on September 15th, 2025. The game received generally positive reviews from critics following its release and also became popularized in Let's Play style videos on sites like Twitch and YouTube in livestreams in late 2025.
History
The game No, I'm Not A Human was released on Steam on September 15th, 2025, for Windows only. The game is set in a sun-scorched world where humanity survives only by night, and players take the role of a host deciding who to provide shelter to.
Players have to evaluate which guests to protect and which to eliminate based on daily broadcasts that reveal new physical "traits" to identify the alien impostors disguised as humans. The game includes around 10 different endings, randomized guest identities and multiple branching scenarios.
A trailer for the game was released on YouTube[1] on September 15th by the studio behind the game, Trioskaz, where it gathered over 130,000 likes in two weeks.
Reception
No, I’m Not a Human received generally favorable reviews from critics and players. The game holds a score of 77 on Metacritic,[6] with reviewers praising the game's atmosphere and surreal visuals. Some critics criticized minor bugs and the lack of saving options in the game as well. The game also holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam.[7]
According to GameSpot,[8] No I'm Not Human surpassed over 500,000 wishlists on Steam as well and gathered over 120,000 viewers on Twitch during its launch week.
Online Presence
Several gaming YouTubers and streamers posted playthroughs for the game soon after its release, as seen in a September 16th, 2025, video by YouTuber[2] CoryxKenshin that gathered over 9 million views in 10 days.
Also on September 16th, YouTuber[3] and streamer CaseOh posted a playthrough of No I'm Not Human, gathering over 1.9 million views on a video that used a character clearly inspired by Daniel Larson.
On September 26th, 2025, X[4] user @jib_loger_alt tweeted, "Wait wait wait… I can’t be the only one that has noticed that the intruder’s smile from No I’m not a Human looks a lot like that one illustration of Judge Holden right??? Oh my god," referencing the character from Cormac McCarthy's novel Blood Meridian. The post gathered over 66,000 likes in a day.

Several internet users also posted fan art inspired by the gameplay as it trended online, presenting different characters as they appear on the host's doorstep in the game.
For instance, on September 25th, X[5] user @satanae_sol posted fan art featuring the Guy Pointing at Himself drawn in the art style of the game. The post gathered over 100,000 likes in two days.
